In the last five posts, I wrote about Spiritual warfare and fighting for our families. I thought I was done with that topic until God spoke to me at work this afternoon. In hindsight I realize I may have glamorized Spiritual warfare.

Everything I wrote came from God. I cannot write without Him and I have no wisdom outside of Him. However, I decided the posts were done in five writings. I was wrong. It happens, when I don’t ask God if He’s done teaching me.

So with that said, here is the reality of Spiritual warfare when it comes to family. You will be attacked verbally. You will be judged, especially when you try to hold your family members accountable. You will be argued with. You will be torn down. At worst case, you will come home after every encounter and cry to God. You will tell Him you don’t see any changes, you don’t understand and why can’t it be the way it is supposed to be.

When dealing with your family or anyone that you are fighting for, you must remember to remain patient at all times. None of this will happen overnight, next month or even next year. Can God make it happen that fast? Yes, but we also know our timing is not God’s.  Will you lose your patience? Sure. Will you lose your temper? Possibly. Will you give up? I pray to God that anyone reading this never stops. Never gives up and never doubts the path they are on.

We must also remain free from hypocrisy. That means we cannot tell our family that the movie they’re watching has witchcraft in it, if we are watching something with Vampires, Werewolves or other such creatures in it. These are examples, I am judging no one reading this article. I play video games and it would be hypocritical of me to tell my brother to stop playing a game with wizards in it if I play a game with zombies in it. Matthew 7:5 KJV- Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then you will see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye. That’s the point of our family. To go through this together. To keep each other accountable. To walk with each other. Not to lead one another. That saying the blind leading the blind. That was never God’s intention. We are to fight side by side, to hold each other up, to heal each other’s wounds.

There can never be a moment I think I am stronger than any of my family members. It is a battle I am fighting for them, but it is a life I am using to walk with them. To build that Godly foundation, that we may worship, pray and love God as a family. As it should be.

Being a prayer warrior is not some Hollywood Walk of Fame. If anyone could see the spiritual me after a battle, I can tell you it is far from pretty. Even farther from the red carpet beautiful we see on t.v. Prayer warriors aren’t in the fight for recognition, blessings or heroism. They are in it for change. To see the world around them, the ones they love, change for the better. They don’t pray for the people they love to change, they pray for them out of love, that God will use to change everything. Understanding that this is all about God and His will, is key.

I believe I am now done with Spiritual Warfare and I believe God is moving me forward to new lessons, but if He ever asks me to write some more on the topic, I will do so. I pray these lessons have blessed you as they have blessed me. All praise and glory be to God, our Abba Father.
