Back in my college days I wrote the following poem in attempt to put into words what I felt God was trying to teach me. My relationship with Him needed to be at the level where I was hidden and only He was visible. My Christian life needed to be one of nothingness to the extent that my actions, words, deeds and service were hardly recognizable as my own by only recognized as a work of God through me.
Horizon
The never ending horizon As sky met land and sea The far off distance came together So as God joined man Like the meeting of the horizon One cannot see where The sky meets sea, but only Knows that there are two So when people see you Not to see you alone But God there right beside you You and God joined together Abiding forever – and Him in you No beginning and no end Only you joined to Him And that is what they’ll see This is your testimony This is your call Live life in such a way That people only see God in you Oh you’re “you” on the outside But inside there is only God Only God living in you This is your testimony This is your call We were created in God’s image And daily we should be more so This is your testimony This is your call Live life in such a way That there is no beginning to you And no ending to GodBy Naomi Fata
