I wasn’t even treasure hunting today, when God brought me to this verse in Habakkuk. I skimmed Micah and Nahum first. God knows I have been searching for what all the prophets knew. What King David and so many others knew. I never thought I’d find it when I wasn’t looking for it. Habakkuk 2:4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith! Sounds familiar, right? Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11 and Hebrews 10:38.

My treasure hunt started in Psalm 25:14-The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant. Since I read this verse I have wanted to know what this secret is! I wanted to know what so many others had known before me. I want to be that close to God.

I found the SECRET, in the treasure of the Lord in Habakkuk though it was in front of me ALL the time! The just shall live by HIS faith. I don’t know why I didn’t connect it sooner through more familiar verses like, Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11 & Hebrews 10:38.

This morning when I read Habakkuk 2:4 it was the two words, HIS FAITH, that stopped me in my tracks. HIS FAITH. Personal relationship with God. Individual sacrifice for each of us the way God intended. The just shall live by faith, stated in the New Testament scriptures, were too general for me. God knew that, so this morning He led me to Habakkuk 2:4.

This was the treasure God had for me, showing me His will. The definition of the just shall live by HIS FAITH to me reinforces the uniqueness of each person’s relationship with God. There are things in my life I must give up for God and they won’t be the exact same things you give up for God. The Holy Spirit convicts each of our hearts differently according to our unique relationship with God. What may be a struggle for me to give up for God, may be easy as pie for you and vice versa.

What a treasure! I feel so rich! I feel so special that God revealed this to me. I am so blessed. Praise God for His perfect timing. I’m sharing this with you because I don’t know what God will reveal to you through Habakkuk 2:4, but I know it will be as unique and personal as it has been for me. Treasure Hunt every day. It is so worth it to uncover God’s beautiful gifts.
