About a year ago someone very dear to my heart broke off ties, just walked away. I don’t know why, don’t know what sort of pain has occurred in this person’s life but I do know they are saved and that God can still do a mighty work in their heart. For the past year I have struggled to know how to pray but know that I cannot give up on them. I must be like Nehemiah and stand in the gap, interceding for them in prayer.

The Lord laid it on my heart to take this person’s picture and write Scriptural proclamations over it. The following photo is taken from http://www.publicdomainpictures.net so as to not expose the identity of the person I am praying for, but the proclamations are the same ones I wrote on my photo.

proclaimationI have this set as the screen display on my ipad. It reminds me to pray continually. I also believe that similar to the concepts Mark Batterson writes about in his book The Circle Maker this is a concrete way to circle this person in prayer. I am becoming like the persistent widow of Luke 18 who demands that God keep His promise.

When loved ones don’t seem to be walking in the truth, let’s not give up on them, but pray with fervency that God will fulfill His good work in their lives!
