Out shopping with my 10 month old daughter yesterday I was patiently waiting in the checkout line. Behind me a lady remarked over the smile of my baby, how nice it must be as an infant to be worry free. Children don’t have to worry about the bills being paid, or food on the table. They just take one day at a time, enjoying the moments.

I was quick to agree, but later felt the Spirit nudging me over lost opportunity. The fact is I am all to hasty to worry about the small things – food, clothing, bills, work…the list is endless. But TRUTH that comes from God tells me that I don’t need to be concerned.

Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Matthew 6:34

How much clearer could the command be? Yet I so often let my thoughts be consumed with tomorrow.

Trust is alien to sin nature – unable to be comprehended by the flesh. The ability to trust is contrary to our nature. If I lived today with trust, my life in Christ would be fuller – the testimony of grace would be greater.
