Dear Ones,
Someone once said; “A tea bag isn’t worth much until it goes through a little hot water.” God’s Word explains this to us so we will not be surprised when affliction touches our own lives.
In John 16:33 NKJ we read; “In the world you will have tribulation…”
In 1 Peter 1:6 we read “….though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials.”
It is wonderful that we are not left there to grieve just because we live in modern times. God is the same yesterday, today and forever and now we can enjoy and experience the rest of the verse; John 16:33 “…but be of good cheer I have overcome the world.” I Peter 1:5 “Who are kept by the power of God…”
The fulcrum of this teaching is found in I Peter 1:7 NKJ “That the genuineness of your faith being much more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire may be found to praise, honor and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”
The object of this life is not us. It is intimacy with God. It is a maturing in Christ likeness that will be transformed into eternal service as He sees fit.
It takes all of life; the good/bad, hardship/success, pain/healing, disappointment/victory, for us to see God shining through all these varied experiences and to realize we can completely trust Him for deliverance and fulfillment. The goal is to gain a deeper confidence in God’s delivering power and our ultimate prize is an active and exciting eternity with Him.
Love you and be a blessing
