On the days I can’t stand to look in the mirror, I force myself to dress up and smile at my reflection anyway. Then I ask God, “What do you see?” Today God said, “My princess.” I took a deep breath and asked, “Why can’t I be a warrior?” God chuckled and kissed the top of my head. “My daughter, you have always been a warrior, but I will always see MY princess first. The beautiful little girl that runs through green pastures, laughing and giggling while splashing in the still waters of Psalm 23. You pretend to be rebellious in these actions, but those still waters are to be enjoyed the way I created you to enjoy them. Keep splashing, keep running and most of all keep laughing. When the enemy tries to steal your joy, I will cut him down. Just keep trusting ME and rejoice in all I have provided for you. ”
What we see is not truth. I love the song I hear on the Christian music station that starts, Mirror, mirror on the wall, telling those lies. That isn’t who you are. We are children of Almighty God. The physical reflection has nothing to do with what God sees. Adjust your vision and see yourself the way God does. Pray for God to adjust your vision, He will.
