God loves it when we finally stand up and say, “ENOUGH,” then act on it. A prayer warrior doesn’t see that as courageous, but as a dare. A dare for the enemy to come at them. Remember Job? The devil goes after the ones that live righteously, that live all out for God not thinking of or fearing the consequences of that lifestyle choice.

There are consequences for choosing God over the world. We will of course be richly rewarded in heaven for our faithfulness, but the likelihood of suffering here on Earth is pretty high. Job 1:11 (read Job chapter 1 for the full story) But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face. This is Satan speaking to God about God’s faithful child. Job 1:1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job: and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil. If you want to get the enemy’s attention this is the way. It is also the way of a prayer warrior. To be upright, fear God and eschew evil.

This angers the enemy to no end and although believers are already targets, a prayer warrior ends up being the number 1 target. James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Prayer can change everything. The devil knows that, is scared by it and fears those that are responsible for it. Prayer warriors are fervent, effectual and righteous because they have to be. It is instilled by the leading of the Holy Spirit to never quit, never give up and never pray halfheartedly.

I’ve gotten a little distracted from the point of this post. Pray for prayer warriors. They need it and it is exactly how God’s power moves them. Job was a prayer warrior. Job 1:5 And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts, Thus did Job continually.  Job didn’t give up on his family. Job didn’t stop praying. Continually. Read Job chapter 1 and see all that he lost for being a prayer warrior. For being a godly man that eschewed evil.

The point of this post was to show exactly what it takes to go to battle with the devil and his minions. To see what it costs, To finally realize FAMILY is worth FIGHTING for. If we truly believe there is a war on the family, then this is what it costs to fight. Making yourself a target for the enemy. The kind of target he wants to destroy. Not just break, but demolish. Ken Davis, a Christian comedian once spoke these words. Nothing worth having is ever easy. Fighting for our families is worth it, but it is nowhere near easy.

Welcome to the first half of a prayer warrior’s life.

In the next article I’ll go over the other half of a prayer warrior’s life.
