The Agony of Defeat
It hurts and is so painful when we experience defeat
Who in the world would want those things to repeat
Let us get out from under the things that so encroach
As our lives continue on, for better days will approach
Those things that are unpleasant can be used as a building tool
But not if we choose to hold them out to ridicule
The reason for the pain may not seem so apparently clear
But understanding God’s purpose will reveal there is nothing to fear
As we yield to trail I can hear Him say: “Well done”
“Now I can transform you to the image of my Son.” (Romans 8:28-29)
