yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform. Romans 4:20-21
He didn’t waver at the promise of God……think of it…..how often we waver.
I have been reading Derek Prince’s book The Spirit Filled Believers Handbook and he points out three successive steps or stages to Abraham’s faith
- Abraham accepted God’s promise as being true from the moment it was uttered
- Abraham refused to accept the testimony of his senses as long as it did not agree with the statement of God
- Because Abraham held fast to what God had promised, his physical experience and the testimony of his senses were brought into line with the statement of God.
Let us be like Abraham, accepting God’s promise as true, refusing the testimony of our senses when it contradicts God’s promise, holding fast to what He has promised!
