make your own encouragement jar with ScriptureOur church frequently puts together sunshine baskets for those who are sick or in need of encouragement. A few months ago items were being collected for three baskets. In the past I have put in small devotional books or other little trinkets but this time the Lord impressed on my heart to do something different. And led me to make these ‘encouragement jars’ as I will call them.

First I typed a list of Scripture promises that related to health, and trusting in the Lord. Like

  • Hebrews 13:6 We say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid.
  • Psalm 103:2-3 Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits – who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.
  • Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the Lord your God is God: He is the faithful God.

I printed these on  card stock and cut them apart. Feel free to download them for your own use here Bible verses for encouragement jar. The last page of the printable is a blank template which you can use to add your own Scripture.

Very few supplies are needed for this project. I used 8oz mason jars/jelly jars and left over fabric scraps for decoration.

This may seem like a simple idea but you never know how it may bless someone else’s life.

Place Scripture verses inside the jar with glittery fabric or tissue paper on the bottom.
