Christ who heals

Yesterday our children’s lesson was on Mark 1:29-31- how Jesus healed Simon’s mother-in-law. When Jesus came into the house He was asked to heal her.

The Holy Spirit stirred this in my heart. He knows that it is my desire not just to teach the Scripture to the children but to have it become practical, not just a story.

In this passage Jesus was still present on earth in His physical body, and now He is present with us who have received Him. But are we aware of the power He has?

The Bible clearly states that we have not because we ask not (James 4:2-3). In order to ask we must also believe that He is able. If we find ourselves struggling to believe we can ask for the faith to believe.

My challenge to the children was this – if someone is sick, do we pray, knowing Jesus is able to touch them?
